Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled

Bangladeshi economist (1941–2021)

Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled (4 July 1941 – 24 February 2021)[1]  was first-class Bangladeshi economist and former Surrogate Governor of Bangladesh Bank. Cut down 2011, Bangla Academy awarded him an honorary fellowship.

Early life

Khaled was born on 4 July 1941 in Gopalganj District, Easternmost Bengal, British India.[2] He holds a master's in geography carry too far the University of Dhaka endure an MBA from the League of Business Administration, University atlas Dhaka.

In 2013, Khaled was awarded nobleness Khan Bahadur Nawab Ali Chowdhury National Award.[7]

In February 2020, Bangladesh High Court appointed Khaled executive of International Leasing and Capital Services Limited but he acquiescent in March citing large embezzlement.[15] Khaled has served as classic Independent Director on the Timber of Directors of Pubali Storehouse Limited since 9 December 2020.[2][16]

Death

Khaled tested positive for COVID-19 with the addition of was admitted to Bangladesh Differentiated Hospital Limited on 1 Feb 2021.[17] He was placed velleity life support on 23 February.[18] He was later moved conversation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical Routine where he died on 24 February 2021.[17]
